FAQ
Frequently asked questions about data, plans, teams, exports, monitoring and coverage.
Data
Where does Qope get its data? Exclusively from named US federal public registries -- FDA, CMS, HRSA, NIH and ONC. There is no proprietary panel and no licensed third-party feed. See Sources.
How current is it? Every table shows a Last refreshed date in its footer, and analysis pages end with a Sources line giving each dataset's refresh date. The bigger lag is the publisher's: the Medicare provider files describe a completed calendar year, currently 2024. See Freshness.
Why does a figure show -- instead of 0? Because the source is silent, not because the value is zero. Qope never prints zero where it does not know.
What if a source fails to load? The page says which source failed, or shows a Partial load notice, instead of printing zero. Reload in a moment to try again. See Data Caveats.
Why do two Qope pages show different counts for the same thing? Usually because one excludes discontinuation notices and the other does not, or because one counts records and the other counts drugs. Every panel states what it counts. If a full table cannot express the same filter, Qope tells you rather than sending you to a view that disagrees.
Does Qope contain patient data? No. The Medicare files are aggregated and de-identified public files.
Is commercial payer data included? No. Medicare fee-for-service only.
Plans and access
What is locked on Regular? Six premium datasets (Facilities, Laboratories, ACO Networks, Prov Summary, Prov Services, Prov Drugs), the Map and NPI Match. The Hub and Team Settings need Teams. See Plans and Access.
Is there a trial? Yes -- a 14-day trial on Regular and Pro, monthly or yearly, on your first subscription. A trial gives the access of the plan you picked. Teams has no trial.
What happens if I hit my credit limit? Data pages show Monthly Limit Reached until your usage period resets or you upgrade. Nothing is deleted, and lead lists, search, Settings and Billing keep working. See Usage and Limits.
Do free aggregate counts cost me credits? No. The record counts on Home and on the database catalog are free on every plan, including for datasets you cannot open. Search does not use credits either.
Where does the subscription live? On your personal account, even on Teams. Team members get access through membership.
Teams
What does Teams add beyond seats? The Hub, Team Settings, sharing of lead lists, saved views, cohorts, pins and Radar lists, team notes and record claims, territory assignment, and per-seat control of exports.
How many people can use one Teams plan? 5 seats are included and a team can have up to 15. Each seat beyond 5 costs 750 USD per month, or 7,500 USD per year on yearly billing. See Teams and Members.
Do teammates share one credit allowance? No. Each member's credits and exports are counted separately against the plan's allowance.
Exports
How many rows can I export? Table exports are capped at 1,000 rows per file on every plan. Narrow your filters to export a specific slice.
How many exports do I get? 100 per month on Regular, unlimited on Pro and Teams. A table export and an Excel export each count as one.
Which formats? Database tables export CSV or JSON. Provider, facility and ACO records, Drug Profile and Territory Brief export Excel workbooks. Lead lists also export HubSpot contacts and Salesforce leads CSV files. See Exports.
Do panel downloads count against my export limit? No. CSV downloads built in your browser from data already on a page, such as on Radar, Patent Cliff or EHR Intelligence, are not counted.
Monitoring
How many things can I watch? 3 per kind on Regular, 25 per kind on Pro and Teams. The kinds are drug, maker, market, county and view -- a view watches the row count of a filtered table. See Radar.
How often is Radar rechecked? Each time you open Radar it reads the sources again, which uses one credit. A change stays listed until you click Mark seen or Mark all seen -- opening the page does not clear it. Instant alerts are checked twice a day.
Why did I not get an email for a change I can see on the page? Only five time-sensitive changes on watched drugs are emailed straight away: first generic or biosimilar competition, an active FDA shortage, a Class I recall, protection expiring, and a cliff date moving by more than 90 days. They are sent after two consecutive checks confirm them. Everything else appears on Radar's What changed tab, in the notification bell, and in the weekly digest. Radar emails go to Pro and Teams accounts only.
Can I share a watch list with my team? Yes, on Teams. Tick Share with team on a Radar list and teammates see it on their Radar and can add its watches to their own. Single watches can be shared and assigned on the Hub. To show a list to a client without a Qope login, Pro and Teams can create a read-only Client link. See Radar Lists and Sharing.
Can I get one list's changes by email? Yes, on Pro and Teams. Tick Email me this brief on Mondays on the list. The Weekly radar digest switch in Settings must stay on.
Workspace
What is the difference between a pin and a lead list? A pin is a bookmark on one record. A lead list is a pipeline with statuses, notes, follow-ups and team sharing.
Do saved views sync between my devices? Yes. Saved views, cohorts, pins, lead lists and Radar live on your account. Only recent filters and the default rows per page stay in the browser. See Pins and Saved Views.
Does a lead list built from filters update itself? No. It holds the records that matched when you saved it. Refresh updates the records already in it; it does not add newly matching ones.
Can I match my own list of clinicians to NPIs? Yes, with NPI Match on Pro and Teams. Upload up to 500 rows per run, review the matches, then save them as a lead list. See NPI Match.
Can I compare providers side by side? Yes, with Compare under Workspace. See Compare.
Coverage
Can I see county-level maps? Yes, for providers, saved searches and lead lists: the Map switches between State, County and ZIP. Other datasets map by state, and facilities can also be shown as pins at their real locations. Providers cannot be pinned, because the NPI registry has no coordinates. See Map.
Is there a quick brief for one state? Yes. Territory Brief summarises a state's Medicare providers, facilities, ACOs, shortage areas and hospital EHR developers.
Is there a search across everything? Yes. The search box in the top bar, and the one at the top of Home, searches drugs, hospitals, ACOs, specialties, states, NPIs and other IDs, phone numbers, provider and facility records, your lead lists and Qope pages. It also answers questions like "top Eliquis prescribers in Texas".
Which countries are covered? The United States. Foreign manufacturers appear where FDA registers them, but the provider, facility and payer data are US only.
